In response to invitations, including by email from the office of Senator Bernie Sanders, who is the Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, Methane Action, in consultation with the scientists and other experts at Remineralize the Earth and Restore Our Climate, among others, developed the detailed suggestions below and similar proposals for two other subcommittees.
Senator Sanders Chairs the Senate Budget Committee which decides how much the Senate Appropriations Subcommittees have to allocate to each agency. Sanders also serves on the Environment and Public Works and Energy and Natural Resources Committees. Those Committees oversee the agencies governed by the laws that they also write and amend, which cover most environmental protection, public works, energy production, federal lands management and mineral extraction.
