Lena Höglund-Isaksson

Lena Höglund-Isaksson is a senior research scholar in the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austria. Starting in 2004, Lena has developed the global methane module in IIASA’s GAINS model and coordinates various policy applications on mitigation strategies for non-CO2 greenhouse gases, including inputs to impact assessments of EU’s energy and climate policy packages, and various global assessments such as the Global Methane Assessment, UNEP Emissions Gap Reports, IPCC’s Special Report on 1.5 degrees and Sixth Assessment Report. She has published extensively on the topic of mitigation of anthropogenic methane emissions and has a research interest in understanding how barriers to emission reductions can be overcome, be it technical, behavioral, institutional, or political barriers. Lena holds a PhD in Environmental Economics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
